1993 School Magazine

On 29th May the team travelled down to Loganlea State High School for the QGSSSA competition. School spirit was very high and all of the team ran well. The 13 years results were outstanding with Rachelle Wu placing 1st and Emma Hutchison placing 3rd. in the 14 years Nicola Ross Tan 3rd and in 15 years Kale Waiters Tan 5th. in 16 years Susan Clark came 7th and in the open event Zoe MCPhee Tan 13th. However, the season did not stop here. On 5th June the Queensland All Schools Championship was held at KGdron. Rachelle, Emma and Kale The lander in the 12 years age group ran well 10 place their team first in the teams championship. Rachelle and Emma were selected to compete in the Australian All Schools Championship in Perlh.

achieved a total competition score over 30 points which demonstrates exceptional depth in the teams as the maximum score is 40 points. This domination will no doubt continue with the expertise of the Artistic Gymnastics Co- ordinator Mrs Nicole Robbins, the talent and enthusiasm of Grammar gymnasts and the new Sports Centre to be completed in 1994. Representative honours went to Rebecca SIatham who was selected in the Queensland team and competed in Melbourne in September.

The first CROSS COUNTRY competition which the team participated in was the Brisbane Slate High School Invitation al. The 13 years age group really began to show their true colours with Rachelle Wu placing 1st, Emma Hutchison 4th and Sharon Wouda coming 7111. All other age groups also Tall well. in the weeks following, with the QGSSSA compeliiion getting closer, the team ran ill the ACGS relays and ill the BGS relays.
