SPORT 1993 QGSSSA
Grammar came out of the first three games with convincing wins, which undoubtedly helped OUT averages. Our fourth game was against Brisbane Slate High. Unfortunately we succumbed and this resulted in both teams taking the runners up position. The Brisbane Girls' Grammar School batters had a dream season. The A Grade's top batters were KITSten Valery, Christine Peel, and Sally Slitz. The B Grade's best were Christme Gentner, Sarah Morgan and Belh Williams. These batters were getting hits every two or three limes at bai These are exceptional averages in a competition with such high standards.
Whenever there is success, one finds clear attainable goals, a wealth of talent, people with vision, highly motivated athletes and coaches, and determination. This scenario GPitomised Grammar Volleyball for 1993, where all four Volleyball teams won their respective QGSSSA premierships. The Volleyball was only one of our sporting success stories Success, however, is a double-edged sword because with suc- cessful teams come higher standards and expectations. This, in turn, makes selection in teams so much more difficult for the Grammar girl, while more girls strive for selection, inoti- vated by our success We continue to try 10 increase the number of teams taking the sporting field for Brisbane Girls' Grammar School and this year represented the greatest number of competitive teams representing the school 10 date and offering 813 compeliiive opportunities for Grammar students , '; *
