C ROSS COU NTRY Many enthusiastic trainers began turning up in the late weeks of first term at 6.50 a.m. in the morning to train for a short 2 km lnterhouse cross country run. This included runs around the course and many strength testing hill sprints. The aim of this was to build up initial fitness and this became a real test of endurance. The results of the lnterhouse run were varied. Lilley House won the overall Cross Country prize, and Michelle Davies performed extremely well becoming the School Champion. The Junior Section of the competition was won by Melissa Smith with Sallie Lawrence coming second. ln the Senior Section of the Competition, Michelle Davies came first, closely followed by Fiona Clance. After this competition, we slowly worked towards the lnaugural Q.C.S.S.S.A. Competition. This was a real challenge for many people as the course doubled in length to 4 km. Trainings now consisted of runs around Spring Hill instead of the routine Victoria Park Route. The Competition was held on 22nd April at Limestone Park lpswich, and overall we did exceedingly well. As a School we came fourth and there were many individual triumphs, such as:
