1989 School Magazine

SRC's first venture was to sponsor Debbie Sander of 11 Cibson to play in New Zealand with the Australian Waterpolo Team. We then became actively involved in School Day preparations, with the intention to raise money by raffling a basket of gourmet food and beverages. This was extremely successful and we thank all those who generously supported us. SRC also ran a creche for younger children on School Day to enable parents to attend the launch. Another opportunity to fund-raise arose at the Student Freeps, which was undertaken with a good deal of enthusiasm. This turned out to be a profitable and highly worthwhile experience. The purpose of our efforts to fundraise is to purchase a gift for the school at the end of the year. None of these activities could have run so smoothly without the help of the extremely competent secretary, Sam Seery, and the treasuret Meg Thomas. Our grateful appreciation must be extended to Miss O'Sullivan who assisted us above and beyond the call of duty. A final thanks must go to Mrs Hancock for her support, which has enabled SRC to have such a successful year. Simone Coogan President

The Brisbane City Student Council is a valuable link between students and major decision makers of the state, and with support from all schools in Brisbane, can be very influential. best wishes to next years' representatives in continuing Cirls' Crammar's active involvement in the council. STU DENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL The Student Representative Council is a committee of 33 and an executive of three, as well as any other students interested in attending the meetings. The aim of the council is to provide a very important link between students, teachers, and ultimately Mrs Hancock. SRC has been an integral pan of the school community for quite some time and-has continued its tradition as a student forum by holding informal meetings on a weekly basis.
