incorporated in the overall theme of Past, Present and Future, and emphasised the need for careful preservation of our historical documents and photographs, for posterity. Sunday 30th July saw a small number of Old Cirls' gather at the school for our Annual Reunion. We viewed the "Crunch Time" promotional video, shared a delightful afternoon tea with Mrs Hancock and Mr Dale and were taken on most informative tours of the school by five of the present prefects. The girls were superbly presented and reflected the high standard always set by Crammar Cirls. The combined Old Boys' and Old Cirls' Cocktail Party was held at the United Service Club on Friday 4th August. A disappointingly small number enjoyed a wonderful two hours together and agreed it was a "fun" evening. September will host both our "Spring Ball" and the first Old Cirls' Dinner to be held for many years. We are expecting both to be great successes. To Mrs Hancock and her staff, may I express the Association's thanks for their continuing support and co- operation. I have enjoyed this year very much, thanks to my committee, and may I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a successful 'l 990, especially the new intake of "Old Cirls" from this year's Year 12. Our Dancing Classes for Year Ten were held in April. These proved to be financially successful, and socially successful for our girls and the boys from Year Ten at Brisbane Crammar who attended. The Mothers'Croup was very active on School Day, running a cake stall, morning and afternoon tea stall, and selling pre- loved books and restoration photos. We also undertook catering for the official Launch of the Restoration and Building Fund Appeal. As we go to press, the Mothers' Croup is preparing for a Spring Fashion Parade and Fund Raising Luncheon and we anticipate that this occasion will not only raise funds but also provide our mothers with a very pleasant oppoftunity to get to know one another. We are grateful to the School for allowing us to use the String Ensemble to entertain our guests and the Year Twelve lntegrated Studies girls to help serve lunch. Our Lunch Meetings, with a guest speaker from Staff, offer our mothers a communication forum with Mrs Hancock and School Staff and enable us to be kept informed of what is happening within the School and further to provide fellowship over lunch. We thank Mrs Hancock and her Staff most sincerely for the education and pastoral care given to our daughters. We invite all mothers to participate in our many activities and thank everyone for their generous help and support in 1989. Cillian McAdam. Our year began socially with a very pleasant Welcome to New Members Dinner at the school on 27th February. HEAD GIRLS' REPORT It has been a great honour and privilege to represent the students of Brisbane Cirls' Crammar School during 1989. Our year as Head Cirls was an exciting and rewarding one but would not have been possible without the enthusiastic support of a very special body of prefects and a wonder{ul year of Seniors. The success of the Year Eight Orientation Day heralded the commitment to school life which the Year Twelves continued to display throughout the year. This school spirit manifested itself in various forms ranging from the founding of the "official" B.C.C.S. Cheersquad to a well-coordinated and enjoyable School Day. Following their lnduction Service in February, the prefects lost no time in fulfilling their various duties around the school. The weekly prefects' meetings had to be seen to be believed but nevertheless gave rise to many innovative

On 1 1th April, the Association was invited to tour Parliament House, with the State Member for Toowong, Denver Beanland, as our host and guide. We enjoyed a delicious and relaxed B.B.Q., then were conducted through the various areas of the magnificently restored and newly constructed buildings, which climaxed with time spent in the public gallery viewing Parliament in session. The Old Cirls' Association played a small part in the "Old Days - Old Ways" display in the Library on School Day on 3rd June. lt was a fascinating collection of memorabilia
