SKI TRIP REPORT Forty seven intrepid girls and three daring teachers arrived at noon outside the school ready for an invigorating week of skiing at Smiggins and Perisher. But we had to survive the bus trip, *hich lasted twenty long hours. On arrival at the Ski Rider Motel, we were fitted for ou r snow boots, skis and stocks, and then headed for the slopes. There we were greeted by rmiling Austrian ski instructors who had stopped smiling by the end of our first lesson. However, by the close of the week our first lesson was forgotten and we could actually get down the mountain without falling over. Everyone of us improved dramatically, none more noticeably than Mr. Warden whose skill and dare devil attitude astounded even the professionals. What more do you expect f rom someone whose motto was'Try it - you can only die once ! ? !' Our accommodation was comfortable and warm and the food was interesting. We all had a wonderf ul time! Thanks to Mrs. Orme, Miss O'sullivan and Mr. Warden who helped make the trip such a success and a most memorable experience. We'd all like to go again next year and (hopefully) remember the ski instructors' helpful advice - 'Bend ze kneez, girls, und lean forvard!' Sarah Stafford and Susan Warren
