CONCERT BAND This has been another successful year for the Concert Band. Due to so many people hammering on Mr. warden's door wanting to be allowed into the band, we were forced to hold auditions (some people managed to con their way out of this, just look at the bottom of this report oh, by the way chris, you still owe Mr. Warden $50). Out of these auditions came 68 very elite players who were to form the 1984 Concert Band. Many of those in the band are from Years B and 9 and so wi[l form a strong base to build on in years to come. As usual rehearsals were on Wednesday afternoons until around 5.00 p.m. (depending on Mr. warden's mood). Th is year, water-pistols have become a welcome diversion from rehearsal, and many people have found themselves candidates for target practice. Apart from this, wednesday afternoons have been a time for a tot of worthwhile work. lftgr only . few rehearsals, Term one Recital Evening had arrived. Concert Band put in a particularly good performance to maintain the high standard and popu larity reached in f ormer years. Ou r next performance was the important task of providing music for the Yea r l2fashion parade. Things went off without a hitch, ?lthough more eyes were on the models than on Mr. Warden. Then came the bis event of the year the an n ual combined Music Camp.We waved a tearful good bye to those we left behind and set off with much trepidation. Here we combined with the B.c.S. Concert Band and gave them a few helpful tips. The days were spent between f ree tim€, ?nd gazing into ou r guest conductor, Mr. Arthur Middleton's eyes. We all learnt a lot from him and thank him for his help. Music Camp was sadly brought to a close with the Music Camp Concert at Boyi' Crammar. Other concerts for the year were at the Careers Market at Eagle Farm Racecourse and the Prom Concert. Both were well received. we as Concert Band Seniors, ?hd the rest of the Year 12 members, would like to thank everyone in the Band for a great year and especially Mr. Warden for his time and effort which has made Concert Band such a worthwhile group. We wish everyone continuing success in the years to come and take th is opportu n ity to say Good by" and Thanks a Lot. Megan Huppert and Lyndal Blackstrom Concert Band Seniors

GIRLS' CHOIR REPORT 1984 was a first for Girls' Choir and was taken by Mr. Wakef ield during the first semester and Mrs. Madden in the second. The group consisted of girls mostly from Years 8,9 and 10, with a couple of seniors who tried hard in the f irst semester to make it a success. They performed at two Music Recital Evenings during the year. They also appeared on assembly in Symbiosis week and at the Merle Weaver Public Speaking Contest. Many than ks go also to Miss Tu rner who was ou r accompanist throughout the year. An ne Rigby
