SOFTBALL REPORT Late in third term last year a group of eager softballers began to prepare for the oncoming G.P.S. season, and the two teams were chosen before the holidays. On our return our unfit bodies were plunged into a gruelling and intensive training programme under the hawk eye of our talented coach Miss Harvey. As a part of this training we participated in the Devils softball carnival in which both teams reached the Grand Final - much to the delight of our surprised coach. We also challenged a team from B.G.S. several times and although we weren't always victors, two out of three ain't bad! The matches themselves, after a few problems concern- ing venue, were held at Kelvin Grove C.A.E. There the A's succeeded in defeating all but State High, wrth whom we tied in spite of two injured players, and the B's won all except a very tough game against St. Peter's. Both teams ended up sharing the premiership with State High. Many thanks must go to Miss Harvey for her dedicated coaching, as well as to our scorers and umpires, and the parents and spectators who supported us throughout the season. Cathy Fees (Softball Captain).
