I.S.C.F. CAMP WOLLUMBIN On Sunday the 19th August, 110 students from schools all over Brisbane and surrounding areas, headed for Camp Wollumbin situated at Wollumbin Scout Camp, 20 km. south of Kingscliff in New South Wales. We arrived to find ourselves in the middle of the greai outdoors as the camp site was in the midst of a f6rest with the Pacific Ocean and Lake Cudgeon only 330m. walk away in opposite directions and tlie nearest shops 20 minutes walk away. We all slept in tents with ten people per tent which ob_ viously resulted in rather uniiOy tenis. There were of course strict ruies keeping the guys out of our tent area and us out of theirs, but rules were made to be broken! Our days were filled with morning prayer, Bible study, singing, beach games, volleybaii, 'electives such as canoeing, skiing, sailing, horse-riding, art and music. At night we watched- Christian f ilms, had discussions and had a great concert on the last night. The nine of us from Grammar were nicknamed ,,the grandmothers" and noted for our noise - we were always very vocal. A number of Grammarians found the camp good for other reasons - they found ,,formal material" - i.e. suitable people to take to the 6th Form Formal. This was due to fl-ie fact that there were a number of eligible grade '12 guys and leaders who were university students. We are unanimous in our decision that we wouldn,t have missed it for the world. P.S. We had also thought of having a street march as we didn't need a permit in N.S.W,, but we didn,t have anything to complain about as the camp was so good. Amanda James, 12E.
