ATH LETIES The athletics season started this year as in the past with the girls training at Terrace Oval and Kelvin Grove Teachers' College Oval. Most of the training time was spent getting to and f rom the ovals. However we manag- ed to achieve what we did because of the potential and enthusiasm. Thanks to Mr. Bowen and Mr. Smallfor their help with training. Came the day; for the first time the G.P.S. competition was held on a Saturday, 30th September. The Grammar spirit shone above everyone and helped tremendously in encouraging all the competitors. All those who attended will agree. We achieved second place to State High overall and tied with them in the field events. Grammar gained eleven first places, eighteen seconds, and twelve third places. Thanks to the WHOLE team for their con- tinuous efforts and we wish them alf the best next year.
