INTERHOUSE CHOIR COMPETITION

BRISBANE GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL 2022 | 049

I n August, our entire School community competed for the R.T. Jefferies Interhouse Choral Award. Each year, our Year 12 House Choir Captains choose a well-known song and create their own unique version featuring harmonies, soloists, and even some snazzy choreography. Roughly two weeks of morning rehearsals culminated in a very special Assembly, where the competition took place. This year we had a wide variety of very exciting performances from England House singing Breaking Free from Highschool Musical , to Lilley House, who belted out their rendition of One Direction’s Drag Me Down . In the end, Harmony Woollett, our adjudicator this year, awarded the cup to Mackay House who performed George Ezra’s Budapest , led by House Choral Captains, Dominique Hourigan (12M) and Sophia Zhuang (12M). Special congratulations must go to House Choir Captains: Esandi Tennakoon (12B); Olivia Clive (12B); Beth Middleton (12B); Chalotte Callinan (12H); Scarlett McLellan (12H); Ingrid Liu (12H); Isla Fisher (12L); Sophia Carroll (12L); Dominique Hourigan (12M); Sophia Zhuang (12M); Jessie Lu (12G); Camille Cahill (12G); Scarlett Glodic (12W); Melodi Kizil (12W); Keira Ryan (12E); Greta Solley (12E); Amelia Cescotto (12O); Sarah Hains (12O); Amelia DeSouza (12R); Ella Lassig (12R); and Samantha Zhang (12R).
