After more than three months of weekly training sessions, the season culminated with the QGSSSA competition on Friday 5 August where the level of competition was high and the atmosphere was filled with anticipation, excitement, and lots of glitter spray! Our BGGS team, consisting of 70 gymnasts, performed exceptionally well at the QGSSSA competition. These outstanding results are a testament to the commitment and diligence of our teams this season, and we would like to congratulate

ROWING R owing is a very special and unique sport which students are not only drawn to for its exceptional physical and health benefits, but for its community. It is one of the biggest team-orientated sports that brings with it life-long friendships and bonds. If we could summarise the 2022 season in one word, it would be unity . This year’s season was certainly different to others due to the flooding event earlier this year which damaged the Grammar rowing sheds; however, we thankfully had the privilege to row out of the Churchie sheds with new scenery and a massive pontoon. Our coordinator for this season was Mr Wruck, our Head Coach was Mr Armitage, and the boat man was Mr Stubbs—they were an integral part in the success of this season, and we sincerely thank them for their dedication. At the beginning of the season, selected crews competed in the BSRA Indoor Rowing competition, and Girls Grammar came away with some amazing results. As well as this, all crews completed five lead-up regattas before the Head of the River on 27 August. An incredible win from the second VIII was achieved as well as many other crews achieving top three places. To finish off the season, selected crews competed at this year's Queensland Schools’ Championships. This resulted in the first VIII coming home with second place, as well as many other top three placings in other events for the first VIII and other crews.
