BADMINTON
T his year saw much success, as we celebrated 24 years of Badminton being part of the QGSSSA. Badminton is a fun and social sport that does not require a lot of previous experience, so many girls from different Year levels signed up to play. Trials were held in the first week of Term 3, with two hours of training weekly and additional holiday training held closer to the competition. Badminton is a sport that allows girls to learn communication skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. We have participated in QGSSSA Badminton for the past six years and have made so many memories. We encourage everyone to join next year and hope to see more new girls trialling. Although the competition was held in multiple venues this year, the girls still performed well and brought multiple pennants home. As Captains, we are extremely proud of this season's achievements, with the majority of the teams placing in the top three. A huge congratulations must go to the Open, 10A, 10C, 8C and 7A teams for winning their divisions.
Without the help of our coordinator, Ms Johnson, and our coaches’ ongoing support, dedication and guidance, this season would not have run as smoothly. We are thankful to have enjoyed the opportunity to be Badminton Captains for 2022 and hope to see the sport grow bigger and better in the future. Charitie Chen (12H) and Sarah Small (12E) CAPTAINS
BASKETBALL
T his year, 11 Brisbane Girls Grammar School Basketball teams were entered into the QGSSSA competition. We were proud to see spirit, teamwork, and enthusiasm from each girl. These qualities came together to form an incredibly successful season. Amazing results were achieved by each team. Overall, seven out of the 11 teams placed in the top three of their respective divisions, with our 10B teaming winning the premiership. Basketball is a game that requires not only myriad skills, but also a strong sense of teamwork. Without all five players giving their all while out on the court, a Basketball team cannot succeed, and we were so proud to see every single girl giving her best. As Captains, we were excited to see the hard work and dedication shown by both the coaches and the girls, and this was reflected in the improvements we saw each week.

Overall, the 2022 Basketball season has been an extremely memorable and exciting one and we wish all teams the best of luck for the future. Jennifer Gluch (12H) and Lily Graham (12W) CAPTAINS
