CATHRYN MITTELHEUSER AM As an eminent plant physiologist, Cathryn Mittelheuser was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy by The University of Queensland, for her contribution to the community, in particular, services to women through the Lyceum Club, and to the University. Mittelheuser graduated in 1968 with a bachelor of science (first class honours) and a University Medal. She was awarded a CSIRO post doctoral fellowship and has 13 publications in scientific books and journals.

PROFESSOR ADELE GREEN (WESTERMAN)

DR EMILY GRANGER Head Girl in 1991, Emily was awarded the Josephine Bancroft Prize for Biological Sciences. She was an active member of the Student Representative Council, Athene Club, Grammar Singers and debating team. After graduating in medicine, Emily has won international and national recognition for her consummate skills as a cardiothoracic and transplant surgeon. The nature of her work has attracted favourable media attention which she has astutely used to inform the public about the nature of her work, and the serious impact that heart attacks play in our society, particularly for women. the best public spirit as a schoolgirl Green went on to study medicine at The University of Queensland. In 2004, Professor Green was awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia for service to medical research through significant advances made in the field of the epidemiology of skin cancer and ovarian cancer, to public health including improved indigenous health, and for leadership in the wider scientific community.
