RECORDER CONSORT 1985 has been an extremely busy and fulfilling year for Recorder Consort. As well as our performances at different B.G.G.S. Recital Evenings, we combined with the B.G.S. Recorder Consort, late in first semester, to perform at the Cultural Centre as part of the opening celebrations. In second semester, we again combined, this time performing in a concert organised by the Early Music Society of Queensland. Many thanks must be given to Miss Jones (B.G.S.) for the very large amount of time and effort she put into our numerous rehearsals!

This year the Recorder Consort competed in the Pine Rivers Secondary Schools' Contest and were delighted to be placed 2nd. On behalf of the group, I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mrs Ritter, our new conductor. Under her guidance and ceaseless patience, we have had a very rewarding year. Having been with the group since its inception three years ago, I wish to thank deeply all involved for their continued dedication and enthusiasm. It has been a wonderful experience!

Wishing you every success in the years to come.

FLUTE CHOIR 1985 has been an exciting year for the Flute Choir. It was formed at the beginning of the year with a membership of four; it now has eight members. Under the expert guidance of our dedicated conductor, Mrs Ritter, we have performed at many B.G.G.S. concerts. In August we participated in the Pine Rivers Music Contest and were successful in being awarded second place.

The choir performs a wide variety of interesting music, ranging from popular jazz to more traditional music.

Our group shows much potential and we hope to enjoy many more years as fulfilling as our first, performing in future B.G.G.S. concerts and competitions.
