YEAR 9 REPORT

Dear Diary, Today has been the most hectic day in my life. Today began with something hitting me on the nose and a distinct clicking coming from just over the cupboards. Yawning, I looked at my nose and saw a rubberband, carefully balancing there. I instantly recognised it as one of Danielle's brace bands. After I had uncrossed my eyes and before I could yell at her to stop clicking her braces a loud shout, "Shut up you fat-nosed wombat," came floating my way. I breathed a silent prayer of thanks to Ainsley. Just then , unfortunately, I was dragged out of bed by Lee, who was ready to go to athletics training. I found it quite painful to stare at her bright purple clown jumper at 7 o'clock in the morning. Dragging myself up the stairs and into the dormitory after athletics nearly killed me, but I recovered sufficiently to walk through the door. I should not have bothered, as I nearly fainted when I came upon Jodi shaving her bunk-mate's head . Fortunately, Jane did not really mind (It was Jane's head you see). I came upstairs after school to find Chris Hartley sitting in the centre of the dormitory. Although I instantly got a headache from the clacking of her knitting needles, this annoying sound brought back fond memories of my grandmother. However, this peaceful thought was shattered within a few seconds as Angela tore through the door and promptly fell on the floor where she began the interesting feat of tickling herself. Unable to believe my ears at the noise coming from thi s fe l low dorm-mate, I stood dumbfounded. Nikki bounded through the door, and obv iou sly unable to be lieve her eyes, tripped over the wri gg ling creature.

At that moment the dinner bell rang and we all trooped down to the dining room just in time to witness Anna in the midst of her hyperactive performance which is too difficult to describe. With Anna still the centre of attention, I watched as she went ahead to devour at least four helpings of both courses. When dinner was over I heard a faint humming and turned to see Jane in trouble with a Grade Eight for having shaved the back of her head. I thought " Oh, no, not another priest session ," as I followed her up t he stairs and into the dormitory where she quietly began meditating. This act of Jane's compelled the rest of t he Year Nines to begin praying for Leah , who seemed to be on her death-bed , as she was one week and three days late for schoo l. I was extremely embarrassed when Mrs Reinke came in and started laughing. I looked down and saw Jacki e ly ing on the f loo r, playi ng dead . In fac t she was so "dead" t hat the only way Ta nya and I could rev ive her was to carry her into t he box-room w here we dumped her into a sink full of cold, soapy water. She cou ld not believe it and had to be he lped out. Jackie then ran off to the showers, leavi ng a tra il of water dripping from her pyjamas. Finally everyone was in bed except, of course, Emmy. There was an amusing race between Mrs Reinke and Emmy which resulted in Emmy jumping into bed just as Mrs Reinke was ready to put her on detention. No less than five minutes later, Emmy could be heard running out of the dormitory again! A mixture of croaking and singing could be heard and a mass of shouts and groans were thrown at Katie who was trying to sing Tanya to sleep. Amidst all this chaos, Ainsley was heard once again, describing her singing as "the BEST"! The most pleasant sound to hear all day was to come from Tanya. Her single snore was her usual goodnight to everyone.

Well, it's now 11 p.m. and time for me, at last, to go to sleep.

Goodnight! Love Alice

P.S. Alice, I have just read your diary and I noticed you did not say anything about yourself. Or is it too bad to be put into print?!
