Sgdneg Drama Tour 20n The inaugural Sydney Drama Tour was a whirlwind adventure, exposing us to an array of live theatre experiences, specialised workshops with Industry professionals at Australia's leading institution of dramatic arts and tours of prominent cultural landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Theatre ompany The twenty participants enjoyed several productions in diverse theatrical precincts, providing us with a wide spectrum of theatrical experiences. These ranged from professional industry productions of the classic and renowned Sydney Theatre Company to the unique experience of community-based arts at the grungy Newton Theatre. in between some leisurely exploration of Sydney's shopping precincts and landmarks, the drama students engaged In four consecutive workshops at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) and Sydney Theatre Company. This enrichment and extension entailed workshops in the lapanese physical theatre style of Suzuki as well as a two hour acting workshop with a NIDA graduate and actress. Sydney Harbour proved the perfect landscape to attend a further two courses focused on devising and performing physical theatre. Not only did this exercise prove to be highly entertaining but it also provided each of us with tools to develop depth and meaning in our work Sydney lived up to its reputation as a cultural epicentre. The four days of cultural enrichment in the company of fellow students and friends was an experience I will always treasure
