Activities for 1957 were discussed . It was decided that Old Girls' Day as previously conducted should be sus- pended in 1957 and that the Association should combine with the School and Parents ' and Friends' Association ·;-o hold a School Day to whi-ch parents and friends , present girls and old girls would be invited. A further report on this function appears later in the Notes. It was also decided to combine with the Old Bovs' Associati on and hold the Debutante Ball as in previous years. The list for intending Debutantes was opened at the meeting . As is usual the Old Girls' 'Notes go to press before the end of the year and the last function for 1956 was the President's "At Home " held at School on Friday 30th November. The attendance was smaller than the previous year but a very pleasant evening was spent. Dr . A presentation was made to Miss Beech as a small token of appreciati on fo r the long and valued service she had given to the Association as Assistant Secretary, Sec- retary and President. Welcome To New Members. New members to the Association were welcomed at a function held at School on Friday 1st March. A most enjoyable evening resulted and Miss Claire Minchin spoke on the work of the Oral Deaf Association, for which we sincerely thank her. Beach Dance: Under the Convenorship of Miss Jan Hoffman , members of the Association arranged a Dance in the Boys ' Gym on Friday 29th March . This year the venue of the Combined Ball was changed to the City Hall and proved more popular than Cloudland. Numbers were larger and the Ball was the usual social success it always is .
