between the driveway and top Basketball court, was agreed upon after much deliberation. Your Committee then awaited news from the Trustees re sketch plans. In July your secretary was instructed to write to vV. J. Rtinhold, the consulting engineers for the school, and asked them to prepare prelirninary sketches for the lib- rary. These were received in September and the Committee was invited to meet Mr. Trapp, the architect, and discuss these sketches with him. Following this discussion of tht two sketches submitted, ycur Committee agreed to ask for esti- mates of both buildings with furniture included. These esti- mates were rec£ived in early October and we now know that we need at least £10,000 to complete our project. Our next step will be to forward the sketches and esti- mates to the Trust tes of the school and await their advice. You will agree that this is a considerable undertaking for any association and it is one which cannot fail to meet with approval and support, especially from those who are closely connected with the school. A circular, appealing for funds, has betn sent to all mem- bers of the Association and Parents of Present Girls. A Library sub-committee consisting o.f Misses E . G. Cavaye, J. Wacker and E. Furness is endeavouring to contact all Old Girls so that they also may contribute to the library. The Association sincertly believes that the opportunity to subscribe to the Kathleen M. Lilley Library Fund is a privilege-a privilege to which all will respond readily and generously. Would you please assist by forwarding the names and addresses of Old Girls, singl e or married, to Miss E. G. Cavaye, 29 Bowen Terrace , New Farm, so we may give them the privi- lege of making a donation to the Library. Proceeds from functions to December 31st, 1954: £3 ,183/ 5/2. TENNIS CLUB NOTES Here we are at the end of another year, and despite the many wet Saturdays experienced, the tennis club continues to providt ample enjoyment for all who play. However, the club is in need of new members, and here is an opportunity of meeting your former school friends, and making new a cquaintances hy joining in a social game of tennis. As you know then are five courts available, and we would like to see them all filled on a Saturday afternoon. If any Old Girl wishes to join she may ring Sybil Elms , U 4669. Come along and bring your friends. You may be assured of a warm welcome. vVe charge a modest fe£ of 1/ - per player each Saturday, and each member brings a little afternoon tea. The tennis club would like to express its gratitude to Miss Crooks for allowing us to us £ the courts. We now take this opportunity of wishing Miss Crooks , the Staff, Mrs. Sears, Old Girls and Present Gir ls a Merry Christ- mas and a Prosperous New Year. -J. JONES, Convenor. 45
