1940 UNIVERSITY :6ESULTS.

UNIVERSITY NOTES. As usual, quite a good proportion of our freshers this year come from the School. We have welcomed to the Arts Faculty, Margaret Clutterbuck, Valerie Phillips , Olive Milne and Glynis Law; Lillian Gobstand has begun Medicine, while June Ashton and Norma Pender are Scientists; Margery Greig .and Lois Lenihan are doing Massage. Of the older inhabitants, Ethel Carson' is continuing her Science course, and Flora Lethbridge and Hilda Hamilton, Medicine; Hilda has just topped the 4th Year students. Joyce Jackson and Mary England are in the second year of English Honours; Joan Payne, Hope Thatcher, Audrey Brotherton, Mary Brophy and Barbara Given are other second year artists; Dorothy Ar thur, Ann Eshensky and Margaret Ballantine, Scientists, and Ann Grant and Mignonette Kashiwagi, Phyiotherapists. The following are hoping to have completed their course this year- Hilda Truesdale, Arts; Kathleen Callaghan, Science; Peggy Goodall and Pat Prior, Massage . Norma Bennett and Daphne Fielding are doing final honours in Modern Languages, Elaine Stenzel and Marjorie Rahmann in Mathematics. Betty Arms trong is teaching at St. Mary's, Herberton, and is finishing her course €·xternally. Dora Krummel and Thalia Kennedy are taking post-graduate honours courses in Philosophy and English, respectively, and Joan Allsop is working for her Diploma of Education. We offer our congratulations to the graduates of this year. Marjorie· Grice gained second class honours in English, and has now become secretary to the Town Clerk. Joan Money, afte·r a brilliant Science course, was awarded the Masson Prize, open to all Australia, and is lecturing in Physiology and doing Bio-chemistry honours. Audrey Webb, BA.. , has taken up the physical edu- cation course at night. Eileen Reimers is a fully-fledged doctor a nd Marjorie Allsop a Masseuse at the General HospitaL
