BGGS HEAD GIRLS 2024
‘Blue-lympics.’ Through these initiatives, we learned about the importance of adapting and finding solutions to problems, but most importantly, worked with a wonderful network of girls to put the pieces in place. Of the multitude of audiences that we had the privilege of addressing this year, the opportunity to speak to future parents and incoming students was particularly enriching. Given these addresses often involved summarising our six-year experience at School into a short speech, it proved a challenge to distil the biggest chapter of our lives thus far into mere sentences. Grammar has given us so much to be proud of and grateful for: from helping us fulfill our educational aspirations; to providing us with wonderful opportunities beyond the classroom; and being our home away from home. As we look to the future beyond the white picket fence, we encourage the girls to trust that the foundations of a Girls Grammar education and the unwavering support from our sisterhood will propel them into a future where they can face any challenge and wholeheartedly embrace anything that comes their way.
2024 has been an incredible showcase of our sisterhood's spirit, and we are so grateful to have been a part of it—from the girls we were in Year 7 to the young women we are today, and the support system and lifelong friends made along the way. From the remarkable displays of support at every event, to the love and connection seen around school day-to-day—each and every girl has been surrounded by a community much larger than herself. We're so lucky to have led a group of such charismatic and empowered young women through Student Council, all of whom worked diligently to fulfill our collective vision for 2024. In organising events and fundraisers, we gained the ability to navigate the puzzle of leadership and particularly enjoyed coming up with some admittedly bad puns for our Blue Day themes: ‘High School Blue-sical’; ‘Blue-nnings’; and
