Athletics

The 2024 Athletics season was an undeniable success, with an enthusiastic team of girls who lit up the track and field. The tireless effort and unwavering dedication from every girl on the team was shown through the numerous personal bests at the six successful meets leading up to the pinnacle competition, QGSSSA Athletics.

At QGSSSA, we witnessed every athlete give it their all, with the impressive results demonstrating their outstanding efforts. A big congratulations must go to Talea Cubela (10B), Olivia Mo (7W), Hana White (10G), Zoe McElwaine (11G), and Jemima Morton (12M), who all finished first in their respective events. At the end of the day, Girls Grammar finished an impressive sixth in the overall aggregate, paying credit to the dedication, drive, and sheer persistence shown by everyone on the team. A special shoutout must also go to our 12 years athletes, with their age group finishing third overall. This successful season could not have been possible without our wonderful coaching team—led by our head coach, Mr Paul Pearce—who trained and refined our athletes’ skills all season, preparing them to perform their best on the day. A huge thank you to all the BGGS staff who have supported the coaches and team during the season and to all the parents who have assisted with timing at the meets. A special thanks must go to our coordinator, Mrs Maddison Gilbert, whose dedication, organisation, and enthusiasm made this season truly amazing and run smoothly. The amazing results shown this season is evidence of the hard work our athletes have put in and demonstrates how far we have come since Term 2 pre-season.
