TENNIS
D espite the testing circumstances all sports faced this year, the Tennis girls have shown great persistence and excitement throughout the 2020 season. As Captains our goals were less focused on results and more interested in creating a sense of unity and camaraderie between all players. We were grateful to be able to compete this year. Leading the girls and watching the BGGS teams succeed has been a great experience. All teams had an incredibly successful season. The Open team placed fourth and the Senior A team placed second in highly competitive and very tight competitions. All other teams won their respective divisions. We are very proud of these results and are confident all players will take the
resilience developed this year into Tennis in 2021. Stephanie Fancutt (12G) and Lucy Israel (12E) CAPTAINS
TOUCH FOOTBALL
W hile the 2020 Touch Football season was short-lived, it is certainly one that won’t be forgotten. Over the course of Term 1, the Touch Football girls showed impressive efforts in their Thursday afternoon training sessions and demonstrated improvements in both skill and performance. Our first round against St Margaret’s was a clear indication of how much work had been put in at training, so it was disappointing when the season then had to come to an abrupt end. Disappointment aside, we can look to the 2021 season knowing it will be all about further improvement and BGGS success! We would like to thank the Year 12s for staying positive this year when the season was cut short. This really helped younger players to maintain motivation and continue having fun. A special thank you must also be extended to Ms Euler and Ms Duffy for ensuring the season went ahead for as long as possible. Finally, our amazing Touch Football Coordinator, Mrs Nisbett, must be congratulated. Mrs Nisbett worked tirelessly to provide the Touch Football girls with the best possible experience during the season, and we are grateful for her efforts.
