Highlights

Sport • Brisbane Girls Grammar School’s First and Second VIII placed 1st in Head of the River. • Amelia Hunt (10O) represented QLD at the 2019 All Schools Track and Field Championships in the Under 16 Steeplechase and placed 7th. • Alessandria-Jayde Tucker (10H) represented Queensland at the 2019 All Schools Track and Field Championships in the Under 16 Hurdles. • Ellie Kendall (8G) represented the Under 13 Queensland Flare Indoor Hockey team in January at Nationals in Wollongong. • Emma Slatter (8O) was selected into the Diving Australia National Training Program. • Ryleigh Dangerfield (9R) represented the Queensland Flames in the Under 14 Girls Regional Softball Championships, against teams from Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia. • Jenna Hilditch (7G), Karla Rimmington (7L), Brooke Tolhurst (9R), Ava Tran (7G) and Lucy Vaughan (9O) were selected in the Metropolitan North Swimming Team to compete at State Championships (subsequently cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions). • Ryleigh Dangerfield (9R) was selected in the Metropolitan North Baseball 12-14 Years Team to compete in Cairns in March (one of only a handful of girls who competed in this mixed team at the State Championships). • Mary Comiskey (10B), Sabine Hatzipetrou (11M) and Amy Middlemass (10M) were selected in the Metropolitan North Water Polo team to compete at the State School Championships (subsequently cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions). • Water Polo Queensland announced the following Girls Grammar players as members of Queensland Squads: Charlotte McDade (8H); Helen Mellick (8R); Caitlin Small (8R); Astrid Thomas (8H); Anne Butler (9W); Georgia Petersen (9E); Mary Comiskey (10B); Lottie Johnston (10H); Amy Middlemass (10M); Sabine Hatzipetrou (11M); Sophie Lucas (11O); Isabel Lumley (11M); Finn Magill (11H) and Georgia De Stefani (12W). • Mary Comiskey (10B) and Isabel Lumley (11M) were announced as members of the Water Polo Australia Under 16 Squad. • Eloise Doerfer (11G), Julie-Ann Dziaduch (11R) and Mia Hamilton (10L) competed in an Equestrian Interschool Competition in February. Their team placed 4th in the Show Jumping Secondary Teams Category for the day.
