DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

CO-CURRICULUM

O ne button and one click, it’s that simple. That was all I thought there was to photography. However, after joining the Digital Photography Club in Year 7, I quickly realised that there was much more to photography. The club photographs numerous school events, such as inter-house sports carnivals, lunch time skill workshops and Harry Potter day. From photographing these events I now understand that photography is a whole process with endless choices. What is the best angle to take a photo? How should I arrange the objects? Then there are post-production options to consider.. Do I need more sharpening? Does the exposure need to change? As I immersed myself deeper into photography through the various cameras and lenses I’ve been fortunate enough to test within the club, I’ve learned that everyone can improve their skills in their own unique ways to capture beautiful photographs. DRAMA STUDIO D rama Studio consisted of weekly workshops that provided opportunities for students to use and develop their skills in Drama. It was a great way to make friends in different Year levels and extend our teamwork skills through games and group work . This year, we focused on circus and physical theatre skills, short film and theatre sports. In Term 2, guest artists, Leon Cain and Jamee Campbell, shared their expertise on clowning. In Term 3, we filmed a short film with Artist, Helen Howard, and Director, Kyle Head, who led a workshop in acting for screen. Working with the School’s Main Campus as our ‘set’ was an exciting opportunity that taught us both life and acting skills. In Term 4 we explored theatre sports with Actress, Louise Brehmer. Thanks to the thoughtful Mrs Redhead-Adelt and all of our guests for making Drama Studio so enjoyable and memorable! Maxine Gamer (9G) and Kyla Johnston (9G)
