SONGWRITER’S CAMP T he Songwriter’s camp was a highlight of my year. I found the guest speakers extremely inspiring and I loved meeting other students who enjoy songwriting. It helped me to build my confidence in performing and I learned so much about composing. The creative atmosphere sparked so many new ideas. The most enjoyable moment was hearing everyone’s amazing work in the showcase and being able to have the opportunity to share my own song in

front of friends and family. Charlotte Parsonage (9G)

STUDENT ENTREPRENEUR PROGRAM T his year I participated in the 10-week, BGGS and BGS Student Entrepreneur Program. The program, which was held in Terms 1 and 2, involved learning business start-up techniques from River City Labs mentors, Mr Aaron Birkby and Ms Peta Ellis, as well as several other successful entrepreneurs. We learned about competition analysis, identifying target markets, designing minimal viable products, market strategies and pitching to audiences. The program also involved developing a potential business idea which we pitched to a panel of judges at the end of the program. Despite initial nerves, this component was a highlight for many girls. During our presentation, we shared our journey and progress throughout the 10 weeks to an audience of approximately 50 students and parents. I am thankful for the teachers involved in this program and their passion and dedication was inspiring. Christabel Huang (11R)
