JAPANESE AFFILIATE SCHOOLVISIT For 10 days in Term III, my family and I were given the wonderful opportunity to host a Japanese exchange student. The whole experience was very rewarding and I have learnt a lot about the Japanese culture. I have been able to try many Japanese customs such as Japanese face masks, bento boxes and learnt how to make sushi. In return I introduced my Japanese sister to the Australian lifestyle by challenging her to try vegemite and lamingtons. I also showed her around Brisbane city, Australia Zoo and Dreamworld. Learning about the Japanese culture fascinated me and has expanded my language abilities beyond what I could imagine. Through this visit I have had the opportunity to make a friend for life. I cannot wait to see her again on the next Japanese exchange trip and take even more photos than my Japanese sister managed on her visit.
