CAMBRIDGE
This year, I was given the life-changing opportunity to take part in the Oxbridge Academic Programs and attend the Cambridge Tradition for four weeks. I stayed at the beautiful Jesus College, with over 250 other students, studying courses of our choosing. For my major class I studied Medicine and the Brain, and for my minor, I studied Espionage. I was enthralled by both subjects and found myself feeling as though I was not studying, yet still took so much away from every lesson. Medicine and the Brain in particular was fascinating and engaging, as we addressed topical ethical controversies within the world of neuroscience. This course also offered a more practical insight into doctor- patient relationships that was equally as interesting. Espionage however, was more hands-on as we scoured Cambridge Town, spying on people from the university and decoding cryptic messages left by our instructor. Overall, the experience of travelling to one the world’s best academic institutions, to create friendships that will last a lifetime, was incredible, and has changed my approach to learning forever.
