YEAR 11 MATHEMATICS A GRETA WENCK (11L)
Year 11 Mathematics A has proven challenging yet fulfilling this year. Introduced to new topics such as construction, finance and data collection, the subject has taught me new and interesting themes that have proven challenging yet refreshing. Right from the outset, the subject has successfully simulated real- life situations that have prepared me for life experiences beyond the white picket fence of Girls Grammar. Overall, Mathematics A is tremendously rewarding as it invites girls to learn mathematics in an enthusing and imaginative manner.
YEAR 11 MATHEMATICS B THANH NGUYEN (11M)
YEAR 11 MATHEMATICS C KATRINA XIAO (11W)
Year 11 Maths B offered to me a number of safe and familiar concepts that made me feel comfortable, but it also provided me with new and challenging ideas that I had to work hard at to understand. An amazing subject, Maths B has taught me so much more than just calculus, logarithms or graphing. In learning how to differentiate, I have learnt the importance of care and precision. In solving complex algebraic equations, I have been taught how to think logically and structurally. By simply participating in one of the hardest and most rewarding subjects, I have taken away new skills that will help me not just in school, but also in a broader sense.
Mathematics C challenges us both mentally and physically in ways that we never realised were possible. As we spend countless hours solving the same complex and seemingly unsolvable problem, we develop our skills of persistence and determination. But the pure satisfaction of completing that one matrix transformation question makes all the hard work worth it. This subject is one that is both intellectually stimulating and challenging however is one that we will continue to develop our skills for in the long run.
