Year 10 Drama has been full of interesting and challenging units of work. In Term I, we learnt about Greek Chorus and studied the conflict between Israel and Palestine through the tragic figure of Rachel Corrie, which was very current and thought-provoking. In Terms II and III, we studied contemporary plays. The most enjoyable aspect of Drama for me, has been the play, Children of the Black Skirt by Angela Betzien. This play explores ideas and concepts such as children taken away from their parents and shipped to Australia; and the treatment of orphaned children in the late nineteenth to the early twentieth centuries in Australia. Overall, Drama has been very academically enriching, entertaining and exciting with each new term. JULIET MCARTHUR-DOWTY (10R)

While senior Drama exposes us to new and exciting styles of theatre, it has also been instrumental in building confidence, making us try new things and opening our minds to real world issues. Researching different, interesting plays has broadened my knowledge of social situations and has challenged the way I think about the world and my place in it. FREYA JENSEN (12G)

Drama is one of my favourite subjects! I love my Drama class because it is always filled with energy and excitement. Drama has been a very beneficial subject for all aspects of my schooling life and it encourages me to challenge myself. JULIA BROWN (11B) In senior Drama, I have formed bonds with the entire cohort through working in groups and collaborating to create work we are all extremely proud of. In creating such complex, professional performance pieces I have been forced to extend the boundaries of what I thought I was capable of. In directing and responding tasks I have also learnt to deepen my understanding of the plays we worked on, resulting in my greater appreciation of all aspects of theatre. MADELEINE CATSOULIS (12M)
