As always, Ms Jans has worked tirelessly this year to ensure the wellbeing of all Mackay girls, and is something of a guardian angel for us. She has a great deal of genuine care for all the girls, and always knows how to divert our hyperactive teenage minds from the 'stress of it all' by bringing a smile to the girls' faces. especially by her spirited dancing during House assemblies! And last but not least. the House Group Teachers have each committed themselves to their allocated group throughout the year. Whether it be settling us into the School or sorting out our Service details. we would all be lost without them With all of these fragments assembling themselves as one, 2013 has been a great year for Mackay House
This year Mackay has worked to implement the School theme. 'Embrace the new! Link the Blue!'. and our personal motto 'Ohana means family'. While the similarities between the two are subtle. we believe together they created the common goals of embracing our new family members. enthusiastically accepting new traditions, while still embracing our proud history and strengthening the existing bonds within our House As House Captains, we've proudly witnessed the girls grow throughout the year, adapting to these themes while adding their own unique flair to them. Whether it be comfortably settling into the House, or questioning their personal boundaries within the classroom or friendship groups. these girls are really a testimony to the spirit of Mackay. This growth can be attributed to a few specific factors. with arguably the most important being our own Head of House Ms Jans
