The Badminton season started with preliminary trials in Term 2. where returning players re-familiarised themselves with various attack and defense techniques. while new players mastered the basic skills and rules of the game Players within teams were encouraged to identify each other's strengths and weaknesses. We were then able to identify optimal player pairings for the season As the season progressed, some excellent combinations developed Throughout the season girls continued training hard towards the aGSSSA competition held in late October and early November. The competition Is a round-robin format taking approximately three hours to complete Many teams play five games in a row without a break so it is a very short but intense competition Special thanks to coaches Leona Chun (2008), 11yria Myrteza (2011), Christ Ina Chan and Brian Chen and to our co- obinator Mr Greatorex for their great organisation. commitment and support throughout the season
Our wonderful coaches work hard to prepare the girls for each Friday night game, as does Mr Fogarty. our co- obinator. The girls benefit from being around them as people. as much as they do from their knowledge of the game, and they are an essential component of each team The Basketball community welcomes new girls each year and hopes to see the same level of dedication in the years to follow
