At the beginning of 2012. the Year 125 spent many days and nights pondering the perfect motto to summarise our goals for the year Suddenly. Inspired by the greatest movie of all time. The Lion King. the perfect catchphrase occurred to us; 'Subscribe to the Tribe. ' What better way to encapsulate the sense of unity and spirit that we wanted in Term I the Mackay girls emerged strong after tackling inter house votteybatt. swimming. and cross country. as well as the perptexing task of determining how to win the notoriousty competitive Miss Mackay costume competition at the House Party. Special mention must go to Tien Ketty from Year 12. who hired a full tribal head-dress. coinptete with white feathers, proving her loyalty to the tribe in Term 11 we maintained our momentum with hectic House assemblies involving Kavya Venkatesh's Indian dancing demonstrations for Multi-cultural Week and some very innovative games ithink bananas and yoghurtl. definitely staying true to the Terms theme of fun. Every Tuesday morning. shrieks of laughter all Mackay girls to embrace? And embrace it they did

were heard coming from the direct on of the Gehrmann Theatre as the girls enjoyed their weekly funny video These videos. along with Ms Jans' obsession with the song Earthquake by Tinie Tempeh. led us to the idea of a House music video, resulting in each House Group devising and Iitming a dance to 30 seconds of the song. The completed video was unveiled in Term 111 and epitomised our spirit and enthusiasm. proving that even though we were not Inter house athletics champions. we were champions at being awesome Further evidence of this was our cupcake stall at Open Day. earning a record $990 for our House charity. the Ride to Conquer Cancer. By the time Term IV rolled around. inter house choir rehearsals were wett underway. and we truly brought a breath of life to the competition as we each channelled our inner F10rence and the Machine. As the year comes to a close. we would like to thank all the Mackay girls for subscribing to the tribe this year. As atways. every girl did the House proud. and it is because of you that we had such a successful year and achieved the goals we set out to complete in Term I. We hope that

you hadjust as much fun being part of the tribe as we did
