SUIimming The Swimming season was one of enthusiasm, fun and new successes. The squad placed third at QGSSSA, an incredible result seeing as we were only beaten by St Peter's Lutheran College and Moreton Bay College - schools esteemed for their talent in the pool From the beginning of the season at the January Swim Camp, we encouraged girls to attack the season with persistence, resilience, and team spirit. Swimming is a tough sport where hard training sessions and long Friday night meets are challenging. it might be an injury, a poor time or a false start that undermines a swimmer's confidence. However, this season we urged girls to look beyond their individual successes and disappointments and focus on the team. Throughout the season, friendships between Year levels were stren thened. The 13 Year age group flourished under the support of the older girls, winning their Age Group Pennant at QGSSSA. The overall success of the squad was linked to the depth of talent and dedication in the team and the girls performed admirably in the relays with nine teams placing on the night. While these results are a clear reflection of the hard work shown by the team, their performance was bolstered by fervent vocal support from their peers on the night it has been a privilege to be the captains of such a fun, caring and spirited team Tennis Several pre-season events were held in Term 11 for Tennis, including the team breakfast and the BGGS Wimbledon Day. Held at Millman's Carindale Tennis Centre, Wimbledon Day allowed players to team up with family members to play a social mixed doubles competition. The day was a great way to start the season and for the girls to get to know the!r team members The Tennis season began in March with the team trials and intramural tournament which were held at Grimth University Tennis Centre. Hannah Coinpton (8R), Sarah Ridgeway-Cross (9M), and NICole Steemson (10M) won the Years 8.9, and 10 titles respectively. The Open Championhip was won by Jackie Lee (12H) who defeated Jordan Hondow (I IE) in the final. The vast majority of our teams placed in the top two positions, and we congratulate each girl for her enthusiasm and dedication to the sport, in particular to the Senior A, 8A, and 9A teams who won their respective premierships Both participating in Tennis for the past five years and working as the ennis captains has been a privilege that we have thoroughly enjoyed I Camin Clifford (12L) and Morgan coltshank 02M) Captains I

The welcome breakfast was a highlight of the season. The girls enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the outdoor Mezzanine area of the Sports Centre before viewing our spirit video which pumped up the girls for the season ahead. To foster bonding within the squad, we also presented each team with a set of different patterned ribbons for the girls to wear at trainings and games The end of season celebration brunch was also great as we paid tribute to our outstanding performances and thanked our parents and coaches for their support

Touch The 2011 Touch Squad celebrated 10 years in the QGSSSA competition and was the largest group to date. Considering that Touch is a relatively new sport at Brisbane Girls Grammar School, it was very pleasing to have over 130 girls playing in ten teams Despite the wet and rainy conditions and the unbearable heat, the spirit and confidence of the players was invincible. The squad had a fantastic start to the season with most teams recording wins against St Margaret's and St Peter's, in the following week every team won their games against Clayfield College. This year the 9B team were undefeated premiers, which was an outstanding result. The Opens placed equal fourth overall In the competition with a team consisting of girls from Years 10, I I and 12. Key to our success as a team was: the now infamous circle game at training, where two balls are juggled at once; and, of course. our numerous feasts at Thursday afternoon trainings
