Football
On behalf of every girl who has lost a shoe, forgotten to pack shin-pads, or was just a bit peckish after a soccer game, we would like to thank Ms Boyle, who tirelessly and selflessly gives up her time to organise, care for and encourage the girls. Football gives us that special opportunity to make friendships between Year levels during those quick intendivision games'at training. Being one of the smallest sport cohorts at the School makes our group one of the closest
Football this year was thoroughly enjoyable to say the least. The junior team won an undefeated premiership - a first for Girls Grammar, and a huge feat considering how many rounds are played and the tough competition they face. 01ivia Roney was awarded best and fairest, and Margot Bligh was chosen as most improved. The senior team coached by Ms Lee, sat roughly midway on the ladder, having won and drawn four games This is a huge improvement from previous years, and numerous observers have commented on the team's efforts throughout the season. The team won their second last game, one of the toughest of the season. Two outstanding players were Sarah Cook (best and fairest) and Claire O'Connor (most improved). For most of the season the, . Opens, coached by Mr Monteverde, we hot on the tall of Brisbane State High which must be a first for Girls Grammar Naomi Glover only let three goals in all season, and was awarded best and fairest

year's theme, 'Embrace the Sister hood'. Our QGSSSA teams all placed at or above fourth position on the ladder. in addition to the QGSSSA Hockey competition, Girls Grammar was also involved this year in the NAB Cup, a tough, state-wide knockout competition for school teams. Girls from almost every grade made up the team that took part, and the competition featured a number of nail-biting games against schools such as St Margaret's Anglican Girls School and Clayfield College 15abella Forsyth (I IE) was selected as part of the U16 Australian School Girls team, the first Grammar girl in recent history to reach this high level of representation while still at school Georgia Fairbairn (IOH) is also coinmended and received this year's Friends of Grammar Hockey Encouragement Award. The extraordinary dedication shown by all of our coaches. and our co ordinators, Mrs Lambert and Mrs Mungomery, is greatly appreciated and treasured
