family. He has come to represent the eager involvement and international awareness of the Gibson community, and we hope that he will remain a constant reminder to each and every past, present and future Gibsonite that we can all make a difference. As our time in Gibson House draws to a close, we would like to thank the many people who have contributed to our happiness in Gibson at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. We would like to acknowledge and show our appreciation to Mr Holley, Ms Euler and Mrs Boltman, all of whom, at some time, guided us as Head of House over these past five years. We also wish to thank the other House Group Teachers who have been an integral part of Gibson in 2007 – Mrs Barker, Mrs Lowry, Mrs Kiolle, Miss Hollie and, with particular gratitude from the Year 12s, Mr Bowman. To our fellow Gibsonites, thank you for your endless support, encouragement, and enthusiasm. Good luck for the coming years, and remember, fear the phantom, fear Gibson. To kick start the year, Gibson hosted its annual House party that involved games and prizes to be won, dressing up, performing House group skits, creating war cries, and eating lots of food. 2007 has proven to be no different to past years, as Gibson girls in high spirits rival the other Houses in ability to sing, swim, run, throw, cheer and have fun. Gibson placed second at Interhouse Swimming, third place in Cross Country, and first place in Athletics. Gibson girls are to be commended on their commitment to community service. The House carried on the traditional Easter egg drive for the Royal Children’s Hospital, and the Year 12s organised a school-supply drive for a struggling Cambodian school. In August, Gibson ran the Strawberry and Ice- cream stall at Open Day, the proceeds raised help sponsor a child in Swaziland. Sifundza Vusi, our World Vision child, was initiated into Gibson House in 2002 and has become a special part of the Gibson
