The International Studies Faculty began a new phase of life in 2004, continuing the activities and directions of the Languages Departments and the overseas eXchange programmes but aiming to extend the focus and enhance the international approach to student learning. The motivation and capacity to communicate across cultures and languages has never been less of an imperative than in our world today where speed and technology have made our 910ba society into a neighbourhood and cultural frameworks have become in some ways more heightened and at times alienating it 15 the intent of this Faculty to embrace the aim of Brisbane Girls Grammar School to help our young women develop wisdom and integrity in their roles as participants and decision makers in an international community
