The Faith in Action IFIAj group at Brisbane Girls Grammar School has made an incredible comeback during 2004. The F1A has a group of students who support Christian beliefs but who also provide other students with activities which promote a sense of community and an opportunity to discuss issues of interest. During the year there were several smaller events such as our lunchtime discussion about the movie, The Passion of the Christ Another lunch hour the boys from Brisbane Grammar is CFjoined with F1A to hear a guest speaker who is involved in designing educational programmes to empower

women in Pakistan Early in the year Dianne Thorp and her helpers hosted The Twenty Minute Challenge' held during lunchtime This was a games activity targeted at the Year 85 and their Year 12 School Leaders. Many enthusiastic girls showed up for some balloo popping, hip hopping fun! The other major event, 'Exo Day' was held on the last day of Term 111, quite an appropriate day to hold such a fun-filled event. Exo Day stands for 'Life Is Excellent IExolentj'. After weeks of joint planning by a small group of dedicated students from both Schools, the event was a huge success

It was held at Brisbane Grammar School where students from both Schools enjoyed a sausage sizzle and were entertained by the rock band Reclaimed. This group plays for a secular audience but are strongly motivated by their Christian faith. This event was sponsored by businesses which supplied the prizes and food. The Exo Day was the largest and most successful of F1AS events and the funds raised from the sale of the food was given to the charity Compassion that supports third world orphans

enthusiastic group of students who are keen to do what they can to address problems of human rights. Our focus this year has been on fundraising. Earlier this year we responded to an appeal from UNICEF to help the children of Iraq. Severely debilitated by the years of international sanctions, when all too often the oil for food money simply did not reach those most in need, the children faced an outbreak of measles which in their condition could prove fatal

On Open Day we supported World Vision with a stall selling goods from developing countries. We are proud to have raised S 720 for this worthy cause. Our Coordinator this year has once again been
