O'CONN OR TH E CU LTU RE
successful Term I for O'Connor House Special mention goes to Tessa Millman, Georgina Porter and Pelin Dundar who ran superbly to help our House gain fourth place. Continuing the running streak, O'Connor House again proved once themselves outstanding in the athletics carnival in Term 111. With the help of our unbeatable athletes and the commitment of the rest of the House, we went on to achieve fourth place overall. Perhaps the most Impressive race of the day went to the all age relay, in which our team of Erina MCDonald, Tessa Millman, Georgina Porter and Claire Vieritz, flew into first place, with each member running outstandingly Term N brought out O'Connor House's musical side with Susannah Hume and lemma Lanyon leading the House in a cheerful rendition of Build Me Up Buttercup. We hit all the right notes and displayed a very memorable performance. I would like to thank every O'Connor House member for making 2003 such a memorable and successful Year. A special thank You must go to Mrs Kings for Semester I and Mrs Edwards, who joined the House for Semester 11, both of whom contributed so much to ensure our House was full of fun. spirit and success in 2003. To all the House Group Teachers, Your tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed. Thank you for Your continuous support and encouragement, without which, House and School life would not run as smoothly Finally, thank You to Year 12 0'Connor. Without Your support, contribution and endless friendship, our House would certainly not be the great House it has proven to be. I think with leaders such as Madeline Spooner and Sports Captains Tessa Millman and Charlotte Purcell, along with the rest of the House Group, it will be hard for House Leaders in Years to come, not to lead by such an example Best of luck to next Years Seniors, if Your performance on Open Day is anything to go by, next year is sure to be just as fun- filled, spirited and successful as this Year, if not even more so.

The maroon banner well and truly flew in 2003, as O'Connor House proved to have more spirit and together ness than ever before. The introduction of our new Year 85 in Term I, along with the friendly faces of the older grades, proved that we were rearing to go, and a definite force to be reckoned with during the upcoming Year We began the year with the much- anticipated House Party that always proves to be a favourite event amongst the House, as the girls really get to show their true colours. Although the rain meant we had to take the fun inside to the boarding house, it didn't dampen our spirits at all, and our voices were still heard loud and clear by
excitement. and ever since, our House's unity has proved itself to be a legendary force. The first Inter house event to start the Year was the Swimming Carnival, in which we placed a very impressive fourth. Our loud cheers echoed throughout the complex, as we encouraged our fellow Housemates, including O'Co n nor's very own School Swimming Champion - Fiona Mackay. The Inter house Drama competition was next, with a fantastic re-enactment of Annie, which was superbly led by Tessa Marshall and Iacqueline Lee. The excellent teamwork, and superb acting skills of the talented Hannah Thams, Suzanne Moore, Alexandra Young, Madeline Spooner and Georgina Horsburgh contributed to a convincing performa rice for which O'Connor achieved the highest of accolades. a gold placing The Cross Country was the next event, finishing off an exciting and very
