Year 12 student Lucy Hall was selected as outstanding in a competitive field of community-spirited Young achievers from around the State. Lucy was awarded a Certificate of Merit and Gold Medal lion as winner of the Order of Australia Association Student Citizenship Awards. The Awards are made annually by the Queensland branch of the Order of Australia Association. They recognise students who have made a significant contribution to society through good citizenship.
The students are nominated by their schools and this year over eighty nominations were received from state and private schools across Queensland. Convenor of the Awards, Mrs Dina Browne AO, says that the Order of Australia Association. through the awards. hopes to promote the ideals of good citizenship and to foster pride in Australian citizenship. By nominating deserving students, schools place value on good citizenship.
"Today's students are involved in a wide range of community activities and are fantastic volunteers. They provide excellent role models for peers and younger students and deserve to be recognised for their contribution. We should all be proud of the role they play, especially when those last two years at school are so academically demanding. " We congratulate Yet another outstanding Grammar Girl. Congratulations Lucy
