C O M PU TE R AN D IN F O RM ATI O N PR O CE S SIN G Computer Information Processing ICIPj, is a subject which half of the Year 9 students study as one of their electives. it is a fun subject where all students participate fully, making this subject entertaining and interesting. Each term, focuses on a new topic.

The first topic was about computers, the internet, the World Wide Web, the privacy of emails and application of software. As Term 11 commenced. digital media, bitmap graphics, vector graphics, desktop video and digital sound were studied. Although this seems a lot of work for a Year 9 student, it's not at all. it is very basic but the best part was when each student had the opportunity to create their own graphic design with some very simple software. In Term 111 we covered the process of how a robot is programmed. This topic was very different to everything we had learnt during the last two terms. We spent the first few lessons constructing our robot out of LEGO and upgrading it to a more complicated form. Later we learnt how to program the robot car by going through the "Training Mission': We learnt the program step by step. There are four different sessions to navigate from "Programmer Pilot I" to "Programmer Pilot 4'1 Each session teaches us step by step what each icon means and how to connect it to other icons as well as how to transfer the information to the robot. You might think this is easy to do, but it is not! A simple error can cause the robot to do something very different from what it was intended to do ! Term N was to be another exciting one In which we endeavoured to make HTML codes for websites. Each student invented a HTML code and pasted it onto their website, making the site much more appealing
