The Sister School Program has been an important component of the curriculum for twenty-four years and it continued to flourish in 2002 While 00 overseas study tours were organised this Year, the School welcomed students and staff from four of our five Sister Schools Our long-term eXchange student from Seirinkan High School in Japan, Azusa Sato, arrived in April. Azusa has made an enthusiastic contribution to the life of the School, and girls will remember her performance in an amusing skit during an Assembly run by the Centre for Language and Literscies in July Azusa will stay in Brisbane until next March In Term 3, six students from Mie High School, Japan, nineteen students and two teachers from Lycee Saint-Paul, France and seven students and two teachers from Maria Wechtler-Schule, Germany visited the School. As well as attending lessons, the students enjoyed an excursion to the Sunshine Coast, Underwater World and Yandina Ginger Factory, which helped to broaden their experience of the Australian culture and lifestyle The success of the program depends, to a significant extent. on the families who host these visiting students Host family co- Dadinator, Heather Walker, did a wonderful job in assisting with the organisation of the homestays The patience and commitment of the host families enabled the visiting students to have a rewarding and enjoyable time in Brisbane. Many host sisters also benefited considerably from the experience and the responsibility it entailed
