Picture this! Summer holidays. the beach, swimming, movies. nothing educational. Well we all really wanted to swim but on the three hottest days of the summer holidays eleven BGGS girls along with 300 other students in Brisbane attended The Siemens Science Ex erience at the University of Queensland. TSSE was held on 16 - 18 January 2001 at several universities around Australia. TSSE involved three days of learning, fun and making new friends Over the three days we listened to ledurers, had classroom discussions and went on field trips. We learnt a range of things such as the fact that it is theoretically possible for humans to re-grow limbs if they are amputated, that being in love is like being on "heroin and ecstasy"at the same time and an abnormality in DNA was the cause of the Russian Revolution The highlight of TSSE was the Supernova:a dance held on the Wednesday night at the piazza at Southbank. The TSSE students from the other universities around Brisbane joined us and it was a night of excitement, meeting new people and making lifelong. friends Overall this was a great experience and we all recommend it to the girls who are invited in the coming years

Margaret. Sandra and Anna are to be coinmended for their dedication to training for this competition. and their excellent work on the day
