Seven people Clinging, grasping hands An invisible magnetism
The Centre played host to two designated Duke of Edinburgh camps
this year. During the Duke of Edinburgh weekends the girls
Glues them Binds them Together As one chain Rain starts to fall Starts to mingle with sweat On your face But you don't notice Concentration it is all on the hill You step through mud Through blood sucking leeches Determined You can see your destination Your concentration falters One foot 15 all it takes To slip To fall
undertook expeditions, which they planned and prepared independently Both weekends this year have taken place in the Imbil State Forest and Involved the students in hiking. raft building and paddling and canoeing The girls worked in small groups of five or SIX and navigated themselves through a series of checkpoints to an overnight camp location This experience allowed personal leadership skills to develop further and enhanced the student's level of self-confidence Most girls enjoyed the freedom and fear of being on an outdoor programme without direct adult supervision. As part of the assessment of a Duke of Edinburgh camp the students completed a logbook. in the logbook compilation process the girls were asked to reflect creative Iy on their Outdoor experiences.
