Misine Musico. .. this was certainly the case for 2001. With guidance from the talented Music staff and under the watchful eye of the three spectacular Music Captains Geolgina Yellowlees. Tiffany"Timpani"Sproles and Gwendolen Warnick, Girls Grammar Music students once again reached a phenomenal level of musical achievement
instrumental Music Camp at Watson Park Convention Centre, Dakabin, which was closely followed by the Chamber Singers'Choral Camp at jinbil. During these weekends the Symphonic Winds, Chamber Orchestra, Vivaldi Players, Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Singers met, sight read, performed and ate 1011ies, all with tremendous talent. With a welcome to the new Year 85 from some senior groups only a few weeks into the term, the array of concerts
planned for the year was in full swing The Foundation Day Assembly, held in the MCCrae Grassie Sports Centre, was a memorable experience for all, including in the musical side of it one of Mr Holley's many renowned school sing-alongs. The Autumn Concert gave all groups a chance to perform and reveal what they had in store for the rest of the year. To manage the large number of groups that performed, a new format was employed - strings played in the
Gehrmann Theatre starting early in the evening and the bands in the Auditorium starting a little later The term finished off with Solo and Ensemble Performance Week for all junior and intermediate players, This week gives all players the opportunity to perform individually or as a group and to receive professional feedback on their performance. As always, the performances were made very worthwhile with Freddos
