Claudia Campbell, Courtney Gumbley and Caitlin Orr must all be congratulated on their consistent performances having never played before. Likewise, congratulations to Geeldine Wright and Shehara Mendis whose reliability has been notable for their entire Grammar volleyball career In particular, the leadership of the Open Team this year has been outstanding. Strong performances, an unparalleled team bond, and inspiration al coaching of Mr Ron Mackay resulted in the gins gaining the undefeated premiership, as well as placing fourth in the State at the Queensland Schools Cup Tournament. Our three rookies showed their worth with strong hitting through the middle from Nicola Walsh and Gemma Deal as well as the excellent work in back court from Kirby Short. Also strong in backourt play was Nickie-Lee Hew Elizabeth MCLellan and Jasm'ne Yarbrough must be congratulated on their courageous hitting from the outside. But the season's success would not have been possible without the wonderful setting and consistent serving of Victoria Ling whose solid contribution to the team was vital to its success Many Grammar girls played representative volleyball with Kirby Short, Lauren Hadampou, Laura Kidd and Claire Howard being selected for the U16 Metropolitan North Team and Jasmine Yarbrough and Elizabeth MCLellan representing the Open Metropolitan North Team This strength was further supported by the selection of Kirby Short and Elizabeth MCLellan in the U16 and Open Schoolgirls teams respectively with Laura Kidd selected as a shadow player

Volleyball in this years QGSSSA Volleyball competition, Grammar girls once again stood up to be counted, challenging their opponents with the high skill level and unmatched enthusiasm which have come to exemplify their style. The talent of Grammar volleyballers has manifested itself In outstanding results this The enthusiasm with which this year's Year 85 approached the Inter house Volleyball competition, won by 8 Grimth, boded well for a successful season in the Year 8 division Although nervous at the start of the season, the girls' skills improved consistently as did their confidence on the court finishing the season in second position. Particular note must be taken of the strong serving of A1ice Bullock, Suhasini Singh and Hilary 09ilvie Following their premiership tie last year, the Year 9 team played at a very high standard to defend their title. Due to their strong teamwork, the girls gained an undefeated premiership. Congratulations to Claire Howard for her consistency throughout the season and to Brigid Annand and Dominique Cassidy for their brilliant setting. Laura Kidd must also be coinmended because, although injured for the majority of the season, still attended all games to cheer on her team and displayed the team loyalty that Grammar Volleyball engenders The Year 10 team also played very welland, with four new players to the team, the girls improved greatly throughout the season. In this d'vision, Matet Lester and Lauren Hadampou must be congratulated on their excellent skills that greatly attributed to the team's final placing of second The ever-spirited Senior BS approached the season positively and this was undoubtedly reflected in their results.
