Swimming To help prepare for the 2001 Swimming Season and Annual QGSSSA Swimming Carnival on Saturday 17 March, a pre-season Swimming Camp was held with 52 students attending. The camp was conducted at the Super Sports Centre, Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast, from 21 January to 23 January. The swimmers took partin many adjvitiesincluding 5 two-hour training sessions, a boat trip to Couran Cove, and shopping at HarbourTown. In addition to the tough training sessions organised by Coach White, the BGGS swim squad welcomed Steve Stubbs, the coaches from Splash Aquatics Centenary Pooland a number of BGGS swimmers, whose knowledge and experience was of benefit to all swimmers. it was a wonderful opportunity for current and future swimmers to build cohesion and experience the Grammar spirit, as wellas commencing seven weeks of final preparations for the QGSSSA carnival. This pre-season event is now becoming a Grammar Swimming tradition During the season Grammar hosted two time-trial carnivals at the Valley and Centenary Pools, competing against other QGSSSA schools. This was a great opportunity for Grammar swimmers to show their ability prior to the selection of the Grammar Swim Team for 2001 The Annual inter house Swimming Carnival was held on Friday 2 March at the 51eeman Sports Centre, Chandler. This carnival is always held amidst a great atmosphere of fun and competition. The Lilleylnterhouse Swimming Cup was awarded to Lilley House for overall points. They were also the winners of the Lt Col Plant Challenge Cup for Individual events. Congratulations must also go to Gibson House for winning the Burrell Cup for Relays

15yrs - Joanna Moore 16yrs - Sarah Holtam 17yrs and Over - Caroline Gregory
