EQUESTRIAN

This year Brisbane Girls Grammar School has once again maintained its reputation as having one of the strongest equestrian teams competing in the Queensland Inter-school Equestrian Association competitions. With twenty-nine active riding members, Grammar's success during the 2000 season has been outstanding. Out of fifteen QISEA events in which BGGS participated, a BGGS team of riders won four times, placed second five times, third twice, fourth once, with quite a few fifth and sixth placings. At three of these events BGGS had two teams placing. Five enormously successful equestrian training camps were held throughout the year, which contributed in creating a very close-knit and cohesive unit whilst also helping individual riders to develop very special skills. BGGS has also hosted two very successful QISEA events, a Hack Day at Brookfield Showgrounds and a Showjumping Day at Fig Tree Pocket. BGGS was the Champion School at the Hack Day and was placed second at the Showjumping Day.
