atmosphere. The challenge to create our own French advertisement for radio, tel- evision or for a magazine was a highlight of the weekend. Promoting the sensuous odour of cheese-scented perfume, entic- ing viewers to "come to Imbil" to stalk the animals, selling shampoo and a watch "qui ne me trompe pas" (that can always be relied upon) was great fun! A few of the hilarious stunts performed for the video included charging into a freezing creek in an attempt to catch a fish for lunch, being in hot pursuit of the Imbil cows and chickens and racing downhill on a bike for "la reunion". Viewing these persuasive promotions later that evening was even more amusing than producing them!

Other highlights of the weekend were singing the French and Australian national anthems, watching a French movie, and embarking on -a treasure hunt which in- volved comprehending the French clues and retrieving numerous objects from around the property. Our sincere thanks must go to Mme Thornquist and Mme Duff who organized the camp and encouraged us to use our language skills for two whole days, and to Dana Kennedy and Kate Brown, past Gram- mar students of French, who helped to make the weekend a great success.
