The Kirsten Jack Memorial Leukaemia Committee raises funds towards research into leukaemia. This year the Committee gained many new members, raising our total membership to around fifty. The Committee began fund raising with a lolly competition but we really swung into action with a very successful lamington drive. School Day also proved to be a great success. We sold sweets and chocolates, tea-towels, raffle-tickets and drinking glasses. The raffle was a beautiful print, kindly donated by the Jack family. The rest of the year's funds were raised by the selling of more raffle-tickets, tea-towels and stall-goods. Thus we were able to present a cheque for $3000 to Professor Smith in August. We would like to thank Mrs Kimber and Mrs Hukins for their devoted support to the committee, the school body and their parents and friends for making this year such a SUCCESS. SKI TRIP On Saturday night, 9th September, when everybody else was out raging, 40 Year Twelves were extremely exciteC, slightly uncomfortable and (best of all) on a bus which would take us to the site of one of the best weeks of our lives. The talent of the Cranrmar skiers has now become legendary and will long be remembered by the instructors and other envious skiers. You can spot a Crammar skier by looking for a kamikaze speed demon (who's about to fall over), a cute ski bunny, or more commonly, she can be found eating and socializing in one of the many cafeterias, at the bottom of the slopes. After a full day of skiing, she can be found enjoying the hectic "night life" at Jindabyne (telling exaggerated stories about what an unreal skier she is). We certainly left a lasting impression on our hosts at Alpine Cables and we're sure they'll welcome next year's skiing legends with (cautious) open arms. Thanks a heap to the teachers who came, especially Miss Roden and Miss O'Sullivan, for helping us have a great time. The whole trip was fantastic and look out Perisher - we're coming back next year (as ski instructors).
